With the warm weather now here, we are planning another great year at the Uptown Community Garden of Peace.
We have some beds available to rent this year. Rental fee is still a mere $25 for the season. It’s less work if you find a buddy to share a garden bed with (still only $25!).
We have a total of 10 beds, but two of the beds have raspberry bushes and one is an herb bed.
Please contact us if you are interested.
Please join Alderman Russell W. Stamper, II, Mayor Barrett and other city officials for a community informational meeting regarding the Milwaukee Streetcar project.

We had a wonderful time at our 1st annual Garden Picnic at the Uptown Community Gardens of Peace. It’s been a long journey, but our garden is up and running with 8 gorgeous beds, a new sign and newly planted trees.
The Uptown Garden is dedicated to peace and harmony on the streets of Milwaukee. We are calling for an end to the violence that has hurt so many people!
At the picnic we dedicated a tree called “Russell’s Hope” for the for Russell Setum who was gunned down on Wright and 48th a year ago. His mother joined us at the picnic to cut the ribbon on the new cherry tree.
We would like to thank all of our gardeners and garden organizers, especially Ann Knoedler, without whom this would not be the beautiful success it has become. We would also like to thank our neighbor Walgreen’s on North Avenue, Milwaukee Urban Gardens (MUG), Common Ground of Wisconsin and Reflo – Sustainable Water Solutions for all of their help!
We welcome you to visit our garden at any time. Our garden’s address is 2321-2325 N.
We had a great time last Saturday for our spring cleanup. We also had additional help from several college student volunteers. Thank you all for participating!
